Applied Active Learning Strategies for the ClassroomMon, 10/3/2016 | 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM | Campbell Hall 100
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Apply active learning strategies to their own assignments and courses
- Understand the purpose and scope of the Innovative Spaces Program
- Apply to teach in an Active Learning Classroom
Applied Active Learning Strategies for the Classroom is the second workshop in a series co-led by the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (UCAT) and designed for the Innovative Spaces Program, a campus-wide initiative to foster transformational teaching and learning in OSU’s Active Learning Classrooms. Instructors accepted to teach in Innovative Spaces are granted priority scheduling and receive training, support, and professional development opportunities.
While designed for instructors in the Innovative Spaces Program, this workshop is open to everyone. Previous participation in Workshop 1: Active Learning Strategies for the Classroom is encouraged, though not required.
The session will use active learning methodologies to help participants identify and apply in-class exercises that move their course delivery toward a more active, student-centered experience.
