Webinar: Maximizing Motivation, Especially Online

Tue, 11/27/2018 | 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

LEARNING GOALS

After this session, participants will be able to:

  • Articulate their definition of motivation and its role in their course learning
  • Identify major influences on student motivation, especially those within instructors' sphere of influence
  • Identify elements of online courses that most benefit from motivation or most affect student motivation
  • Design online courses that influence motivation at crucial moments

We know that students learn better when they care more.  This need is all the more urgent in online learning.  Less clear is how to encourage students to engage consistently with course material, fellow students, and instructors.  In this webinar, Anna Brady of the Dennis Learning Center will review established research on student motivation and some of the most impactful ways those insights can be used to drive course design to energize online students.
